I think I'll ask for a subscription to both of those for father's day.

I read "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krakauer, which is an expansion of an article he did for Outside Magazine into a book. Highly recommend it!

Wooden Boat sounds like fun, since this whole kayak thing is an outgrowth of my desire to build a steam launch (ref: African Queen, Humphrey Bogart) out of wood, which is in connection with my sailing roots.
