There are some thickened epoxys that are designed as glues. Use them only as glue. For anything else (including gluing) use the same epoxy resin that is used for laminating/impregnating/saturating (pick a word there) Fiberglass cloth. If you want it thicker, there are many fillers you can add.

Look for a good price. You are not worried about a fancy finish here. From what I`ve seen price wise, Raka Marine has a good price, but there have been a few comments about the finish. They list a new ( more expensive) hardener on theri web site which is suposed to solve this problem. West systems product line has an excellent reputation, but theri list prices make them more expensive. On the other hand, and you can shop around for different prices on their materials from different suppliers, and still be assured of getting a good product. There are a lot of other brands out there, too. I've been using the resin sold by Clark Craft, and find it works great.

There are a few threads on this BBS about epoxy resins. You might spend some time reading them, and checking links to different suppliers. A lot of good info from lots of people who have tried various brands.
