I did it flat,as Nick suggests, however I was afraid I wouldnt get the deck to curve correctly, and I used 3mm Okoume marine ply, with 2 layers of 6 oz glass inside and one 6 oz layer outside. It is stiff, and supports my weight(180') without flexing.I bent it into shape on the hull, after making the cutout,by weighting it down(I used an old vise, and 2 lathe chucks),and it went very quickly.
