: Now take all those nicely polished steel bars and throw them into the water,
: preferably in such a way that they bounce off a few rocks. If they don't
: get nicked, they'll rust.

: I know that was a violent and traumatic thing I jsut asked you to do, so when
: you can breathe again, remember that your boat is going to be thrown into
: the water and occasionally hit some untamed abrasives. It is a boat, not a
: shaving mirror. Unless you intend to use it as a mold or plug, you're
: wasting paddling time by putting a killer shine on a boat's hull.

: Sanding is a pain. Let it go for a while and go play with the boat. At the
: end of the season you can sand and varnish again.

Yea,,, I'm done with the finishing for now but no time for playing in the water. My trip of a life time, for me, in the BWCA is less then a month away and I still much to do and test. Working on the roof rack but my e-bay bought yakama saddles haven't come yet so I can't finish that, also I have to find a better way to mount my seat, since the Tuff Stuff foam I used under my seat to conform to my haul shape had a very slow reaction to the epoxy I put on that I glued velcro to it. A month later it had distorted. And there are other last minute things. But I'm not complaining, it is fun and keeping me active in my retirement. All retiree's should have group like the ones on this board to keep them young. Thanks---
