: in the "off-season" so at this time of year, I'm actually
: looking forward to winter. That & I just got a new pair of old
: snowshoes that I'm anxious to repair and hike off into the bush with. And
: yesterday in Saskatoon it was a cloudless day and 29 C. I spent the
: weekend paddling (canoe) on Kingsmere Lake and aside from some moderate
: winds on Sunday, we had fantastic weather - warm (during the day - nights
: were darn cold), & sunny. During the night the beaver were busy and
: could be heard dragging birch & poplars past our tent on their way to
: the underwater raft of winter supplies they were building. We also saw a
: family of moose but watched them from a distance given that it's mating
: season. Yesterday we paddled home across the lake with just a light South
: breeze and little more than a ripple on the big lake. Unfortunately we
: didn't bring sunscreen and my wife got a bit of a burn - at the end of
: September!!
