I'm simply building some cradles out of scrap wood, adding some foam padding, and attaching the boat with a pair of webbing straps. There are lots of these carts around of varying design, most of which can be had cheaply, modified easily and carry the load of your kayak. Besides, it is not nearly as much fun bending conduit and filing angle iron as it is building boats.
