I don't really think so Mike. I freely admit I've wasted some epoxy in building my boat, but it was really only in laying the cloth and building that up, and some summer time work where I was trying to get by with a colder weather hardener.

It doesn't take long to figure out roughly how much epoxy you need to do a job. And it's a simple matter to mix up a wee bit more to continue if you run shy. Especially if you use the right hardener. You've got hours before it sets, days if you keep everything really cold.

You also get glue waste in building. The amount squeezed out of the joints and wiped up is thrown away, usually. That can add up.
