Dave: Iused white pigment in the epoxy to coat the hull of my CLC chesepeake 17 plywood kayak. I sanded out all the bumps and imperfections then spray painted with 3 coats of 1 part polyurethane paint. After 6 months of heavy use the hull still looks good although there are some scratches visible if you look closely. I intend to touch these up during the long dark wet Canadian winter. I have used 2 part epoxy paints and found the result is not worth all the extra effort. I enjoy woodworking not painting). Good Luck on future projects.
