I was cutting wood on my tablesaw yesterday, and had a bit of a fright.

I had pushed a long board through (ripped) and was dragging the board back towards myself to make the next rip. I had the blade up as high as it would go (cutting misc. firewood) and as I dragged the board back, the saw started tipping towards me (rapidly), and then began to fall towards me! There I was with a spinning sawblade coming rapidly towards my midsection. I pushed down on the board and pushed it back away from me, and managed to get the saw back on its legs. If it had fallen into my stomache it would have done significant damage.

I had on ear an eye protection, but the saw was on the lawn, and being a lightweight saw on a lightweight stand, I almost got hurt bad...

Maybe I should put weights on the legs (removable for moving the saw). The ground was flat enough, I think I'd have had the same problem if I were on concrete.
