Lining the entire cockpit just might be good insulation for those frigid days I have to paddle through. I currently have a large chunk of closed-cell on the bottom of the hull for both comfort (heels) and warmth. Now that I think of it, lining the whole inside just might be an improvement as long as I seal it tightly against water. It can't hurt to try, a concept I know you are familiar with.

That is 1/2" or 1" closed cell foam
