I think this same question comes up with every new Auk. I remember staring at the sheer wondering how to make a strip go from angled to near-vertical to near flat. The answer is beveling. Dont be afraid to be agressive, especially on the back deck. My sheer strip is almost triangular at the back deck to be able to make the twist and lie flat. It is one of those things that doesn't make sense until you do it, then you can't imagine any other way to do it. The picture shows the sheer right at the back deck. You can just about see the triangular shape.
