Should there be a rolling bevel along the entire
: length of the strip or should the bevel be only in specific area? I’ve
: experimented with several methods and I keep having a gap between the hull
: shear strip and the deck shear strip. I’d really be interested in knowing
: how anyone has handled this problem.

I had this same problem on a more rounded Little Auk I built. The rolling bevel that went from vertical to horizontal left me scratching my head and throwing away ruined strips of wood. In the picture where the camera flash lit up the strip of pine between the hull and deck is where the problem was. I happen to have a can of two part Tuff Carve used by pattern makers that exactly matched my pine wood. I parted the area with grease that I was trying to fit into, mixed up the Tuff Fill and mashed the pine strip into the area I was trying to match. In five minutes I had a perfect fit. I glued in the strip and planed it off. Auto body putty is about the same as Tuff Carve and if you could color it to match your wood it could work if all else fails.
