I wouldn't be too concerned about gapping when using RB's. I never really have had such a problem and many of the bevels I have run are less than perfect on the inside. I just try to make the outside look tight. Some here go as far as to use auto inspection mirrors to get the bevel perfect on both sides, but it's not necessary unless you're into that sort of precision. I think it will definitely help you to press the strips together as tightly as possible. There are many methods of doing so posted here (check the archives). I prefer clear packing tape. It is very strong, quick, and cheap.

In the end, however, only you will see those "ugly" gaps and goofs. Whether you use B&C, RB, staples or stapleless, everyone else will just see a beautiful wooden boat :-)
