Hi John,
Hey, I'm a Hubber by birth. The luck was moving here when I was about 5 years old, my fathers family is from around here.
And they grow corn here too. Mainly for cattle feed.
Yep, the North Atlantic Drift, aka the Gulf Stream, is nice. The sea temps rarely go below 10 to 12 degrees C (40-54F). Oddly enough, sometimes it's better to dress for the air temps than water temps here in winter. The cold wet air can strip heat as fast as the sea water.

Those streamlined trikes are called velocycles. They're very well suited to fairly level ground where the extra weight is counteracted by the low drag at higher speeds. Not so well suited to hilly country.

One serious problem with cycling around here is getting distracted by the views, a twenty minute journey can take an hour. (easily distracted, I am) It can take even longer if you meet someone, that's another half an hour added. At least. :) Still great talkers, here. Specially if you're dragging a kayak around.
