Do What, push down on the skirt? I haven't had it in the surf yet and wanted to get an idea of how it would respond to downward pressure.

Anyway, thanks for the response. It seems to me that creating a small lip (under and on the outside of the coaming lip) might be a more practical solution that extending the whole coaming lip out further. The purpose of my question was the possibility that someone here might have done something similar and could comment on it.
