First I drilled some test holes in some scrap and found the smallest diameter hole I could fit the cord through. I had pre-drilled holes in the frame and followed Brian's method in the link below to burn holes through the skin. For the bow and stern I ran the line completely through both gunwales and tied a square knot at the top. Should be suitable for towing. I used some wire to thread through both holes, attached one end of fishing line to the deck line and one to the wire with tape and pulled it through. For the deck lines on either side of the cockpit I tied a figure eight knot on one end and pulled though with fishing line attached, pulled as tight as I could and tied another figure eight inside the kayak. Of course I strung my toggles on first
