I've been satisfied with Kajaksport hatches. No leaks in the hatches. I'm putting them on my Iggy and was very happy with them on my Siskiwit Bay. Plus, they're on my Reval and Romany. Can't go wrong with them.

: also: anyone ever hear of an aluminum kayak? plenty of aluminum canoes.

Didn't George Dyson build an aluminum kayak and document it in part in Baidarka: The Kayak?
