Actually you see the gaps just as much with narrow strips as you do with wider ones. The turn of the chine on mine uses 3/8" wide strips and I used them too, with 1/4" wide trim strips at the outer edge of the deck. Pain cutting a rolling bevel on a 1/4" piece of spagetti :)
