Hey Rob,
I live 800 kilometres north of Sydney and get my strips from Cedar Sales in Ipswich, QLD. They import the timber and when they have a clear board in either WRC or Yellow cedar they cut it into strips. I have sourced the timber for all my boats from them. It gets cheaper in larger quantities but the strips are all evenly cut and good quality. The $1000 for the timber is about right, expect to pay between $1 to $1.30 per metre for 19mm x 6mm strips. They can arrange delivery as well. One of my boats - a Little Auk - now sits on display in their showroom.
