Exact system I use. The spacer is a piece of 1/4" plywood. With the Diablo blades it's almost a perfect 3/16" between the blades. I use cardboard and/or paper shims to dial-in the final width (ie for 1/4" strips). With the powerfeeder it makes a fast, safe way of ripping strips. You can also do it with featherboards. One wide one on top and one on the side before the blades.
