: That is a VERY interesting hull design with very deep bow and stern. It look

: Is this a design you've paddled before building...?

It is derived off a zero rocker design with a 1 ft longer waterline that I paddle now. That one is very difficult to turn indeed. Since I find tracking more important than turning since I am mostly a nice-weather, away-from-the-surf-kayaker, this design will be fine. It has a substantial amount of rocker, shorter waterline so it should be a lot easier to turn and should also still have good tracking. I like the squeezed bow and stern also for the way they cut through the waves, also nice not to be launched upward when landing through surf.
