The flip side (pun intended) of low volume /low flare bows that dive vs. rise is they can have you pearling and even pitch poling instead! Similarly, grabby/skeggy sterns can exacerbate broaching behavior. Speed potential is also reduced (but low speed efficiency can be better - a benefit to typical 3 knot paddlers) as it will exhibit wave making more like a shorter LWL hull.

Always trade-offs.
