When I sanded my epoxy, I found that better sandpaper, though more expensive, clogged far less and ended up a better value. I used Norton sandpaper I bought at a Rockler store. The cheap stuff from the dollar store was worthless. Sanding to me is a fairly miserable job, the better sandpaper stays sharper and made the job go much more quickly.
Also, as mentioned, hit all the lumps and feather the seams with some sort of scraper while the epoxy is still rubbery, that saves much sanding later.
