No worries about that. My boat resolutely floats deck-side-up, unless I really screw up. Actually, I haven't flipped it yet. Rob has updated his site with a review of the SS from Ken Katz, who was the first to build one from plans back in 2000. Ken was a neighbor then and helped me a lot when I had questions on my build. Anyway, here's a link to Ken's comments on the design, some of which broadly apply to baidarkas in general. One thing he doesn't note is how he and a friend once won a distance race on SF Bay, using Ken's SOF double baidarka and Greenland paddles. In the last mile or so they ran down and passed a hard shell double paddled by a couple of jocks using wing paddles. So there.
