I had a Coaster for 5 years. Loved it. Surfed, camped, tidal stream play, sea caves, anything. But I had two problems with it: no bulkheads and I couldn't put it on edge as easily as I could narrower boats. The no bulkheads was great for camping, but pumping out the huge amount of water was exhausting. I used a sea sock but that was entangling. The more I went into harsher conditions, the more I wanted bulkheads and hatches. The edging problem is due to my size, 5'6" 130#. You would have no problem.

I tried a lot of wooden kayaks and finally settled on a Pygmy Arctic Tern 14. It handled like the Coaster in wind and waves, but was easier to edge. It has bulkheads. It is lighter.
