: How is the arctic tern 14 stability wise?

Barb, at 130 and 5'7" finds the Tern 14' plenty stable. When I paddled it, it felt stable but when I leaned I could tell it would go right over if I pushed it. At my weight, the boat sank into the water (fresh) almost to the sheerline, so just a bit of lean put the water over the deck at the coaming. Also, paddling the Tern 14', I could tell by the size of the bow wave that I was pushing a lot of water. At 220 and 6'1" with a 48 long coat size (lot's of upper body), I'm just too big for the designed displacement of the Tern 14'...that's why I built myself the 17'.
