Just the small reduction in maximum beam. If the sides are closer together the bottom panels get pushed further down-so the keel gets more V.
The aim is to get a slightly faster boat for she who is larger and less fit than I, and reduce hull slap (REALLY annoying) when running head on into moderately large chop, which is common where we paddle.
As for the slight changes in stability etc that will result, who knows, but I don't think the changes take the hull form anywhere near the extremes of some designs out there.
My wife would never forgive me if her yak turned out to be a wobbly white knuckle ride !!
