Don, Ben, and others that are still considering responding: I have considered a number of areas in Western Washington & pay my dues to the Washington Water Trail Association with the thought of doing the Puget Sound from South to North some day, but I'm really looking for something more remote for this trip. What can people tell me about the northern Gulf Islands, Discovery Islands, Queen Charlotte, or Ketchikan to Petersburg? Maybe I should split the nearly 4 weeks available into two trips - a long northern trip and a 2-3 day southern trip.
