In Response To: Seeking: Ideas for adjustable foot braces (Tom Johansen)

: I am looking for ideas on building a set of adjustable foot braces. I have
: used the adjustable bulkhead type that is in Nick's book, but I didn't
: like the adjuster being on the floor. I guess I'm a little picky, but it
: would be much easier to sponge up/clean up if the floor were clear of
: obstacles. Also, it interferes with setting my beverage bottle/can sqarely
: on the floor in front of me :)

: I seem to recall seeing that someone had made adjustable sliders out of
: electrical pvc, but can't locate that info.

: If anyone has a source or experience with an acceptable method, the info
: would be greatly appreciated

TRY MAKING TWO OF NICKS FOOT PEG SLIDES, BUT INSTEAD OF MOUNTING THE LARGE FOOT PEG - MAKE A SMALL SINGLE REST FOR YOUR FOOT. MOUNT ONE ON EACH SIDE OF YOUR KAYAK. I'VE DONE THIS ON ONE OF MY BOATS - WORKS GOOD. ON MY CURRENT BOAT I AM MAKING THE SLIDE ONLY 24'' LONG NOT 32'' AS IN NICKS BOOK. SHOULD BE LONG ENOUGH.

GOOD LUCK - STEVE POLLACK
