I am aware that the US Coast Guard requires all watercraft, including home builts to have an HIN. However, I seem to be amassing quite a collection of unnumbered boats. Part of the reason is because Arizona does not require paddle craft to be registered so I've never had need of a number. The other reason is pure rebellion; I've got enough numbers attached to my life. So my question is two part. Are other builders getting numbers, and what sort of hot water am I likely to end up in if I continue such seditious behaviour? On a related note, I have a 12 year old Folbot and if it has an HIN I've never been able to find it.
