The rock, #2 turned out better than I ever expected. I made a hollow core by playing with the lamination structure. Unfortunately I dont have a scale. I havent actually tried it yet, didnt get out last weekend. The only disappointment was the ash lamination at the tips, which tends to splinter. Ive come to the conclusion that glass tips are the way to go.

The technique has led me to a jig that I can use to lay up hollow core, hollow core w/ glass inside for strength, with truss-type, block structures, or balsa-cored, or foam for that matter. I'm thinking seriously about production. Two prototypes are on the ways, and I just came from Alder Creek, where Steve says if I build 'em, he can sell 'em... I have a little more experimenting to do with strength/stiffness of different internal structures, and then we'll see. I'll have a prototype in his shop by the second week in January.

: and BTW, how did "the rock, nr 2" turn out? Or has filling Santa's
: sled been keeping you too busy lately, to finish any new paddles...
