I have not made a SOF boat but you may find some of the answers you are looking for on the Greenland Technique Forum link above, on Nicks SOF pages on this website, or if you can find the October 2001 issue of Atlantic Coastal Kayaker magazine there is a nice article about Bill Low, who has a business building SOF boats on Cape Cod.
I don`t know if Mr. Low is willing to share his trade secrets, but the artice does mention that his email address is billow@capecod.net.
Finally, also in the October issue of Atlantic Coastal Kayaker is a review of the book "Building Skin on Frame Boats", an excellent book by Robert Morris, reviewed by Mr. Jay Babina, a frequent contributer to this forum and boat builder and paddler extrodinaire in his own right.
