S&G: Repairs of seams, etc

I did some pretty extensive damage to my stitch and glue this summer and am trying to repair the ugliness now. I am cutting away fiberglass that has delaminated and need to clean out the seams so I can stitch back together and glue. If I heat the epoxy with a soldering gun or something of that nature will the epoxy be easier to remove? Is this advised? I also have hole in a panel. I have a piece of the hole, should I try to glue this back in or just use thickened epoxy? If I use thickened epoxy what should the thickener be.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Tom
