This was talked about in some detail in several threads started by Joe a few weeks ago. I'll try to post one of the links below. Everyone has their own opinion and in the end it was basically agreed that cockpit size is a personal choice. Sit in as many boats as you can, educate yourself on the basic trade-offs, and then go with what you like.
