I'm varnishing my two boats (guillemot S&G and Strip) and it's going pretty well with a bristle brush,however I'm going to try some with a foam brush as a comparison.

I'd also like to try wiping with a shop towel.Any hints or tips??

Also I've read that buffing can be a last proceedure.Is it done like a car, with a soft buffing wheel and some paste compound ? or is there a special method ?.
