Drew,
For my first strip kayak I built the North Star last year, given my size, 6'4" 260#s. My wife liked it so much that I decided to build her a Shooting Star as it was more geared to her size. 5'4" You can see the finished picture of my North Star in my profile along with a link to my website showing the building of it last year.
If it's anything like my North Star, I'm sure she'll enjoy it. Unfortunately I understand it is a faster boat which means I'll be bringing up the rear again as I always did with the old plastic kayaks.
