Hi John, we don't know how well you have applied the veneer If you did a good job gluing it down (with carpenter's or another glue) then you'll be okay. Do a precoat to help fill any air pockets. If you have doubts then the safest thing is to redo it.

And, there's only one way you're going to get a definative answer... tack a small piece of veneer to a scrap of wood and test it out.
