Strip: Scaled down Outer Island

Has anyone out there built a scaled down Outer Island? I really like the kayak but at 17'10" it's too long for me. I need a low volume version, maybe around 16 or even 16.5 feet.
I know I've seen posts in the past about making smaller versions of boats but I don't remember how it's done. Jay? Any ideas on how to make a low volume verson of your beautiful boat?
