: I've ben thinking of doing a 16 1/2 ft verson. You're the
: third person who has asked about that - mostly women. I would lower the
: volume accordingly but not too severe. Before you ask, - not sure when -
: probably this winter.

: It's ironic, about 65% of the people (guys) are worried about fitting into
: it. Once they have one, they tell me they want to build a second and lower
: it a bit. A friend in CT is lowering it an inch and building one this
: winter. That's pretty low - more like the dedicated rolling machines. We
: always kid about the fact that you can carry a penuut butter sandwach in
: the hatch but not chunky style.

Great! Let us know how it progresses. If the men are wanting to lower it, you'll definitely want to lower it for this smaller, more female friendly version. Our smaller feet don't need so much room in there.

I'm already building a canoe from plans that have never been built from before; I don't think I want to try that for my first kayak. I'll be eager to hear what you think of it and what some smaller paddlers think of it as I'm still trying to decide what to build for myself if I ever get this gift canoe done.
