One of the things that occurred to me at R2K2 is that I need to get some of these projects complete. This is a kayak cart that I made last Spring/then realized that the wheels would drag unless I installed spacers/got longer pins... so here it is. I think it's probably one of my better side projects.

That's Walnut/Cedar/Walnut steam-bent/laminated around a plywood form. Don't forget to account for spacers between the chassis and the wheels. The wheels are solid lawn mower wheels from the hardware store - held on by clevis pins. I will install bumpers up top (probably turk's head knots). The boat will be held down with ratchet straps.

I can already see that I could have built it narrower or smaller overall... not bad for a prototype though. I glassed one of the "U"s but I skipped glassing the other when I realized the fabric didn't seem to add any noticeable attributes. The Walnut makes it very rigid. I may retrofit it to use 1/4" aluminum pins. I may also make it a take-apart (like a take-apart paddle).
