: How did you solve the problem of the short axle not turning down with weight
: applied? i.e. the axle wanting to turn downward toward the center so the
: top of the wheel scrapes the strip. Seems like the axles would want to
: turn in the strip itself and also with spring of the wood. The spring of
: the wood might be controlled by attaching a tight line from near one axle
: to the other. The turning down of the axle in the wood strip could be
: controlled by forming some sort of metal plate and bolting it to the wood
: strip... maybe a welded nut on a 3 inch x 1.5 inch of 1/8" steel?
: Alternatively, a single metal (light gage stainless steel pipe) axle could
: go the entire width from one wheel to the other.

: I love the idea of bending wood for the frame. it looks so much nicer than
: the bent metal and PVC carts I have seen.

Thanks Rick, my compliments on the canoe too. The cart is beefier than it looks in the picture. Those beams are about as stiff as a Walnut 1x2; Walnut is tough as nails. Heck, everything breaks eventually :) If/when this does, I'll simply fix it or make another. I could even put bearings in that pivot point if I had too... just a matter of finding the right manufacturer/online retailer. I probably won't get around to reviewing it for a while but I'll let you know how it works.
