Hi Gordon

There HAVE been a couple past threads on multi-boat trailers and a couple of nice adaptations to the small H.F. trailers and a fold up or two. One adapted a lightweight boat trailer to kayak use. I'm sure you could find them through a search of the archives. ( I never seem to find them, but some folks do )

I have been looking at the Torsion type axles and full 14" rim tires for a lightweight style trailer. The Torsion style axles are tauted to be much better than sprung or solid axle installations. Some can be adjusted for weight capacity depending on your load.

With this axle and a good homemade frame type trailer bed, you could adapt risers and cradles to build your own trailer for a reasonable price. I have a friend or two that weld and will teach me, or work for a few $$'s, and steel really isn't all that expensive for a small trailer. 1 1/2" sq. steel tubing would probably work very well for that light of a load. The axle, hitch and lighting will cost you more most likely.

Just a thought...
