Russ-

I used 5 oz tight weave on my hull and deck boat with out any problem - even in double thick layers. The sparkles you describe showed up in the tight weave tape that was used to seal the hull and deck. But it only showed up in a couple of spots. No one (except me) looks at my boat while laying their head on the deck, and I don't do it much these days either. I wonder if some batches of 5 oz cloth may be contaminated. I have a small quantity of left- over 5 oz cloth that I have not had any problems with wetout. If you want a swath for comparison against your cloth, I would be happy to send you some. One additional piece of information - I used the slower/blush-free hardener (350?).
