The glass and epoxy you have on-hand should work fine. You probably know to expect the Kevlar to fuzz when sanded, but there may be a glass layer that will keep that to a minimum. It wouldn't be a bad idea to step down the patch thickness on the edges to encourage a smooth transition in stiffness. You may also want to add glass to both sides (inside and outside).

Any idea why it cracked?
