: I don't know what kind of scraper you are using. I have found that a carbide
: scraper digs in at the corners of the blade on flat surfaces and does more
: damage than good. However a cabinet scraper is just the ticket for
: scraping bugs, fuzz ,bumps and runs off stained plywood. You can tell by
: the color of the shavings when you are just starting into the dye/wood.
: Several passes over just a single seal coat will come off white showing
: pure epoxy.

sounds to me as if you do a seal coat of substance that can take several swipes wheras mine can maybe take one even swipe if that. i played around with various types of scrapers, and liked the bent-holdered lee valley best w/ the ends just rounded a bit. was playing around with tape on parts of the 'blade' to see if i could have like a screed going - 60/40 not that great, edge kept cutting thru the tape. was also thinking about rounding off the outside edges and just having a central cutting/shaving area only - didn;t try that, as the real issue was the rising and falling of the edges over the glue drops and drips.
but fuzz removal is probably ok even with my thin sealcoats.
i guessed to go with a thin seal coat so that i could minimize change in bending characteristics, and also as there is a long delay to glassing stage, to have as much mechanical 'tooth' to allow subsequent bonding - the surface is not filled.
