No need to fill the weave..
I used a white elastomeric sealer, thinned the first coat 50 - 50, let it soak in, then applied full strength coat. It's totally sealed, looks great and has a little texture.. I waited till the coat dried and wet sanded between coats... it's pretty smooth ( with texture ) and also painted 3 coats of Acrylic-Latex house paint. It still didn't kill the weave, but it's totally sealed and looks great.
