: No need to fill the weave..

I agree with Rehd that one doesn't need to fill the weave but some do want it filled.

I have never filled the weave on any of my canvas skinned kayaks , it would take too much filler which adds a lot of weight. I don't use canvas anymore as it is more expensive than 8 oz nylon - which is a pretty good skin material for the price.
