I know we should always follow instructions but: When I use Epifanes High Gloss I just thin it enough for it to be easy to spread (not too much brush drag) but still thick enough so it gives decent coverage and doesn't run. This means 10% thinning in my 70 degree shop. I use good quality foam brushes for the application and have no problems to report.
