I roll RAKA fill coats with a thin yellow foam roller and tip off with a foam brush. If the epoxy kicks before applying throw it away and mix a new batch. I use fast hardener for fill coats (slow for wet out) and recoat every two hours. As soon as the epoxy sets enough to not wet your finger when touched your can recoat even if it is still tacky. Over 6 oz. standard cloth, I usually apply four fill coats then let full cure, then sand, then two more fill coats, cure, then sand. Use a cabinet scraper on any runs before sanding. You should not have any runs if you use a roller.

Silica cannot be sanded smooth and soft fillers scratch too easy. The only filler to consider is the graphite/silica for a black coat.
