Nope i put the weights as far forward as possible and it took 15 lbs to get the cocking i wanted.

so now i have to move my seat far enough forward to = 15 lbs added weight way forward. ..probably have to move my coaming forward we'll see.

I kinda have two threads going on about similar issues and between
them i have found that...my seat is too far back ( it leecocks)..and when i added weight to the bow the lee cocking problem went away AND stability increased a lot.

I am not sure how much 15 lbs of ballast increased stability as opposed to simply simulating having my seat in the correct position.

I will have to move my seat forward to til i get slight weathercocking
in 10-15k winds...and then experiment with stability to see if i still need ballast.

: Ah yes, inertia is the friend of ballast and ballast is the friend of
: stability.

: When you say you put the weight in the bow, I hope you mean against the fore
: bulkhead.

: Added weight, be it ballast or gear, is best placed as close to the cockpit
: as possible AND balanced, that is distributed to maintain the correct trim
: of the hull.

: Weight near the stems will negatively effect handling.

: Catch a lunker!
